Borrowing from the notion of a music remix, web application mashups are focused on the creation of new and interesting software utility applications based on disparate data services. In the same way as a DJ can remix music content, software developers can shuffle software components and data services to create unique information services and an entirely new class of web applications. | This website represents a community portal for sharing ideas around the evolution of mashups. This site is dedicated to the research and discussions pertinent to the adoption of mashups as a technology enabler for business professionals. Our attention will be focused on (but not limited to):
- How Web 2.0 powered situational applications can enable business professionals to build communities around their projects and domains of expertise;
- How knowledge workers can create situational or short-lived solutions that adapt more quickly to their continually changing business relationships.
- Enabling knowledge workers who have just enough IT savvy to define and create the applications and utilities that matter to them
- Empowering business professionals to create their own software utilities and linking them to other users - in minutes with little or no code
| Hsi Pai: The Chinese symbol describing the act of shuffling or mixing together | Initially this portal will simply be comprised of a blog with an intent to grow the scope of the content. |
